Tina Kuban , Maison Glandien
Burgundy
Côte de Beaune
In 2018, Berlin-born winemaker Tino Kuban moved to Meursault, and acquired the estate of Bernard van Berg, a highly regarded producer known for meticulous, low-yield viticulture. Kuban renamed the domaine Les Jardins Vivants and continued its natural, artisanal approach.
Tino has quickly gained recognition as a rising star in the natural wine scene in Burgundy, celebrated for the purity, precision, and deep expression of terroir in his wines.
Les Jardins Vivants is a tiny, 1.5-hectare estate, farmed organically with elements of biodynamics. Yields are kept exceptionally low—often below 10 hectoliters per hectare—to concentrate quality. His winemaking is natural and minimal-interventionist, characterized by:
- Gravity-fed pressing (no pumps
- Whole-cluster fermentation
- Spontaneous (wild yeast) fermentation
- No racking
- Aging in new Stockinger oak barrels
- No sulfur during aging, and only minimal sulfur added at bottling (if any)
Alongside the estate, Kuban launched Maison Glandien, a micro-négociant project based in Meursault. Founded around the same time, this label allows him to source organically or sustainably grown grapes from trusted growers in Burgundy, Beaujolais, Jura, and Alsace. These wines are labeled Vin de France, offering flexibility and creative freedom.
Through both Les Jardins Vivants and Maison Glandien—as well as a third label, L’Origine, which bridges estate and négociant fruit—Tino crafts wines that are expressive, low-intervention, and deeply reflective of place. His work has earned a cult following among natural wine lovers and serious Burgundy collectors alike.
