We are honoured to host a special dinner tasting with Olivier Lamy to celebrate his first visit in Hong Kong.

This is a rare opportunity to sample many of Olivier Lamy’s rarities, including his 1er Cru Haut Densite bottlings and 2 vintages of Criots Batard Montrachet, one of the bottles as Haut Densite and the other ones in Magnum!

Olivier Lamy, whose tireless efforts over the last 25 years are now consistently delivering some of contemporary Burgundy’s greatest wines. Whether it’s cutting-edge viticulture, including plantings at over 20,000 vines per hectare and unhedged canopies; extended maturation on the lees, which now amounts to 24 months in total, 23 of those in largely neutral wood; obsessive attention to closures and bottling practices; or a host of other small details that, cumulatively, make the difference between the best and the rest, Lamy has spared nothing to get to where he is today.

While Lamy’s ultra-rare Haute Densité bottlings are now almost impossible to source, PoB and Olivier Lamy will share with few privileged guests some Cuvee Haut Densite bottlings from Saint Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet and a duo of the Criots Batard Montrachet HD – the 2010 vintage served from Magnum (as no regular bottles were produced that year) and the 2018 vintage.

William Kelley’s tasting note of the 2018 Criots Batard Montrachet HD:

A candidate for the title of white wine of the vintage in Burgundy this year is Lamy’s incredible 2018 Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru Haute Densité. Unfurling in the glass with a profound bouquet of citrus oil, clear honey, fresh pastry, mandarin oil and dried white flowers, it’s full-bodied, ineffably complete and multidimensional. Its caressingly satiny attack segues into a bottomless mid-palate that displays striking concentration without weight, framed by chalky dry extract. Long and resonant, this is a formidable achievement from a great vigneron at the peak of his powers.  96-98
