Domaine Jean-Marc Millot’s Echezeaux du Dessus parcel has belonged to the Millot family for eight generations. The current vines were planted in 1949 by Jean-Marc’s great-grandfather, but the vineyard was later leased to Domaine Mungeard-Mugneret when he became too old to manage it alone. After Jean-Marc’s parents married in 1982, they fought to reclaim the land, eventually winning the court case in 1986.

Echezeaux du Dessus has long been considered one of the finest plots within the Echezeaux appellation, with a location and terroir very close to Grands-Echezeaux. In 1990, the owners applied to have it reclassified as Grands-Echezeaux, but the request was declined. Since 2017, Jean-Marc and Alix Millot have vinified this parcel separately. The wine shows remarkable depth, complexity, and a distinctive character, with only three barrels produced each vintage.
